Week 3 Line and Pattern
In Class Exercise
1. Patterns with full Frame
Shutter Speed 1/200 Fstop 22 ISO 400
Shutter Speed 1/200 Fstop 22 ISO 400
These are my two full Frame Patterns. Ones gaps in a fence and the other is the bottom of a palm tree. I tried to get full framed images without anything like shadows in them but didn't really work for me with the palm tree images. Both were taken straight on. I cropped the top image in Photoshop as it had weird lines on the side so I cropped to take them out.
2. Patterns with Negative Space
Shutter Speed 1/200 Fstop 22 ISO 400
This is my Negative Space Image. You have the patterning with the power lines and then all the negative space surrounding with the blue sky. I guess you could also say this image has a disturbance in it as well as everything is the same with the patterning till you get to the light at the end of the power line, which is different to the rest, and I guess also the tree in the corner although it wasn't part of the patterning.
3. Leading Lines
Shutter Speed 1/200 Fstop 22 ISO 400
Shutter Speed 1/200 Fstop 22 ISO 800
Shutter Speed 1/250 Fstop 22 ISO 800
These are my Leading Lines Images. The first image I saw as we were walking to the park, It's not a straight leading line but I thought it looked cool curving and it still leads your eye to the top of the image where the buildings are. The second image is one I got while we were on the bridge, I love this image and got it at just the right time while Aroha was right in the center of the bridge and my image. I also like how Caryline and Aimee are on both sides of the bridge as well and the bridge kinda leads your eye all the way to the other side of the image. For the third image I put the camera right inside of a curved branch while we were leaving back to class. I like how your looking at the branch but then the foot path on the side kinda leads your eye to the top of the image. I thought it looked kinda creative.
4. Metering
Shutter Speed 1/250 Fstop 22 ISO 800
Shutter Speed 1/160 Fstop 22 ISO 800
These are my Metering Images. The top image was taken with Evaluative Metering and the bottom with Spot Metering. Both images have a lot of detail but the Spot Metering looks a lot lighter than the Evaluative Metering to me.
Week 3 Line and Pattern, Manual Mode
Self Directed Task
1. Pattern with Full Frame
Shutter Speed 1/5 Fstop 32 ISO 6400
Shutter Speed 1/2500 Fstop 5.6 ISO 3200
These are my Self Directed Full Frame Pattern Images. The top image I took at night in Auckland City. I took it at a level angle and took it side on rather than straight on. The second one I got in Papakura while I was out with my sister. I saw this Brick wall and thought it looked cool. I took this image straight on at a level angle.
2. Disturbed Pattern
Shutter Speed 1/100 Fstop 7.1 ISO 100
I couldn't find any disturbed patterning so I decided to make my own. I lined a few eggs up and put a white one in the middle to disturb the pattern.
3. Leading Lines
Shutter Speed 1/100 Fstop 7.1 ISO 100
Shutter Speed 1/100 Fstop 7.1 ISO 100
Shutter Speed 0"3 Fstop 4.5 ISO 100
These are my Leading Line Images. The Top Image I took down our driveway. I took the image so the fence line would be the leading line to the top of the image, the driveway on the side of the image could also be a leading line as well as the power lines. I also edited this image as it was darker when I took this image so I upped the vibrancy and upped the contrast. The Middle Image I took so the fence line alone the side would be the leading line to the end of the image. I also edited this image in Photoshop Raw. I upped the vibrance, clarity, and highlights for this image. The Bottom Image I took so the middle elevator handles would be the leading lines at the bottom and the elevators themselves would be leading lines at the back. I like how the elevators look like they're moving from the lower Shutter Speed. I also had the camera resting on the side of a staircase so I wouldn't get movement from the camera shaking.
4. Environmental Image with subjects gaze to lead viewers eyes
Shutter Speed 1/100 Fstop 7.1 ISO 400
For this image I asked "Richenda" to stand in our driveway and wave some cloth around and look at it, leading viewers eyes to the right side of the image where the cloth is.
5. Metering
Shutter Speed 1/100 Fstop 7.1 ISO 400
Shutter Speed 1/100 Fstop 7.1 ISO 400
These are my Metering Images. The top image was my Evaluative Metering and the bottom was my Spot Metering. I'm not entirely sure if this is how they are meant to look BUT I can defiantly see a difference between them with the top image looking clearer to me than the bottom one, and it looks like more light is getting through with the bottom Image
